Thanksgiving at the Roy Mass Youth Alternatives (RMYA) shelter looked a little different this year, as the Nieves Hernandez family, who prepares the annual feast, wasn’t able to come out because of COVID-19.
RMYA staff and some of the children teamed up to make the food themselves and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
“It was organized chaos but it was a lot of fun to have the young people engaged in putting together their own meals and learning about how to shred a turkey,” Chuck Pau, Director of Outreach, RMYA said.
RMYA is looking for donations this time of year, so if you’d like to help out, visit their website.
